Watching Graphic Videos Can Induce Symptoms Similar To Trauma

cinema, horror, couple

We have been desensitized to watch videos showcasing graphic and mayhem. Hundreds of horror films and millions of real videos on the Internet brought shock and thrills to viewers. But recent behavioral studies have shown that watching these videos have the similar effect of trauma on watchers.

Psychologists believe that the subconscious mind is like a vacuum that sifts through everything that we feed it. Negativity from the nightly news on the Internet affects our subconscious mind and may even affect our decision-making and critical thinking skills.

Other than graphics films and real-life videos, sensational news involving tragedy seems to produce similar effects of trauma to viewers. These facts are enough for us to be more aware of what we feed on our minds.

Are we really influenced by what we watch or simulate through playing video games? Partly yes, according to psychiatrists. The minds of youth are easily molded by the images of macabre and terror. Parents should be more vigilant about the type of media that their kids are into.
