Watching Horror Movies Will Make You Healthier Than Ever

Horror movies obviously induce fear using jump-in-your-seat scares or sequences of doom and gore. Despite the dark images showed by most horror flicks, did you know that watching horror films comes with health benefits that you didn't expect?

The chase sequences in many slasher flicks can give your brain an illusion that you're actually pursued by a psychopath or a hulking monster. This illusion will make your body burn calories, experience an adrenalin rush, and create a soothing experience once the chase sequence or the film is finally over.

Studies have also shown that some horror movies are used by therapists to treat their patients experiencing a phobia or a traumatic experience.

Films where the protagonists emerged victorious against a menacing enemy, turned out to be effective in stress debriefing sessions.

Watch the video showing how horror films can affect your health.

Give it a shot of watching a film or two (or even start a movie marathon). The relief of finishing a horror slasher flick turned out to be a great way to relieve stress and burn down calories.
