Exercise Makes You Happier Than Money, Yale and Oxford Study Confirms

What would you choose, a healthy or a wealthy life? What if I could show you that it is more important to have a strong body and mind than having a lot of money?

In a study at Yale and Oxford, it explains the importance of physical and mental health of a person than its economic status, and that regular exercise can enhance your physical fitness and maintain your good health and wellness.

Scientists collected the needed data both the physical and mental behavior standing of more than 1.2 million Americans.

Participants were asked, "How many times have you felt mentally unwell in the past 30 days, for example, due to stress, depression, or emotional problems?"They were also asked about their economic status and how often they engage themselves in physical activities.

75 types of physical activities were identified by the participants like doing house chores, work, transportation and leisure.

Participants who involved themselves more on doing such activities stay active and tend to be much happier.

Giving the statistical data, nonactive participants felt mentally unwell 18 times more than those who do exercise regularly on average.

In addition with that, another study confirmed that physically active individual that has the same capability or as good as those who don't do sports earn about $25,000 more a year.

But, this doesn't mean that the more you engage yourself in sports the happier are you.

Too much exercise can also be bad and detrimental to your mental health.

Exercise is clearly and absolutely good for you, but how much is too much?

In an interview with Adam Chekroud of Yale University, he said that the relationship of sports duration and mental load is U-shaped and that physical activity contributes to the mental well-being of an individual for a period of time.

Only 3-5 training sessions lasting for 30-60 minutes each are ideal and recommended engagement per week, because those who exercised too much for a long period of time suffered more than those who were not doing exercise.

Team sports and other sports that involve socializing have more positive effects in your mental standing.

Exercise and physical activity really are great ways to feel better, boost your health and have fun.
