Philippines: Supreme Court Dismisses Same-Sex Marriage Recognition

supreme court, same-sex marriage

A petition that intends to allow same-sex marriage in the Philippines has been junked by the Supreme Court after it was seen to be lacking on standing and justifiable reason to be pushed.

The Supreme Court by Associate Justice Marvic Leonen announced that their decision on dismissing the same-sex marriage petition is final, due to raising a big controversy that violates the court and the law.

Jesus Falcis along with his counsels were subjected on the violation of the court order after they didn't take for considerations the "bare rudiments of court procedure and decorum or worse, to purport to know them but really only to exploit them by way of propaganda."

The petition started on 2015 led by Falcis to ask the high court to declare the nullification of a part of the Family Code of the Philipines that "define and limit marriage as between man and woman."
