Mayor Teodoro: 4 Out Of 8 Contacts Of Marikina’s COVID-19 Case Show Symptoms Of The Virus

Four (4) out of the eight (8) contacts of an 86-year-old American male residing in Marikina have been placed under home quarantine after showing symptoms of the disease, the Marikina Mayor Teodoro said.

In his interview on Super Radyo dzBB he said that containment measures and contact tracing of those who interacted with the patient has been ordered. The local government has also suspended classes in all levels in Marikina until Wednesday, March 11.

“May walong tao na kumpirmadong nagkaroon ng direktang pakikihalubilo dito sa pasyente natin kaya sila ngayon ay nasa quarantine,” he said. “‘Yong apat, may symptoms, symptomatic. May nakikitang pag-ubo, may sipon.

Meanwhile, Marikina's COVID-19 patient is an 86-year old man who recently traveled to South Korea and USA has a pre-existing hypertension. His Symptoms began on 1 March 2020 and the patient is currently admitted to a private hospital.”

The patient is also among the 10 confirmed cases, said the PIO.

“Aalamin na ngayon kung saan siya nagpunta buhat no’ng February 19 na dumating siya sa bansa hanggang sa mapasok siya sa ospital no’ng March 6 para malaman din natin kung sino ‘yong mga nakausap, nakaharap niya no’ng panahon na ‘yon,” Teodoro said.
